Our Mandate

The Embassy’s mandate is to articulate and implement Kenya’s Foreign Policy with a view to developing and enhancing Kenya’s bilateral relations with the Federal Republic of Somalia.

Our Core Functions

Diplomatic Representation of Kenya in the Federal Republic of Somalia.
Engaging in conflict resolution and peace building in Somalia.
Promoting and encouraging dialogue and reconciliation amongst all political forces and regions in Somalia.
Participating in and attending IGAD/AU/UN meetings on peace and security in Somalia.
Supporting and participating in regional and international initiatives including Core Group,UNSOM,UNHCR,AMISOM, aimed at promotion and implementation of the Federal Government of Somalia.
Organizing consultative meetings with ambassadors and international organizations based in Somalia.
Participating in the preparation, negotiation, review and implementation of Kenya/Somalia Joint Commission for Cooperation (JCC).
Monitoring and participating in the conclusion of MOUs between respective Ministries/Departments towards the implementation of JCC on capacity building in various fields.
Promotion of Kenya’s political, economic and trade interests in Somalia.
Provision of Consular Services.
Provide the necessary services needed by Kenyans visiting , living and working in the Federal Republic of Somalia.
